Greater Grace #4

James 4:6a,10a…6a But He gives a greater grace…. 10a Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord,”  I am in the constant presence of God as a temple of the Holy Spirit, with Jesus in me and possessing the Glory of God. By His greater grace and in the presence of Jesus I can be humble. Examples of people in the Bible in the presence of the Lord:

Moses: The angel of the Lord appeared to him in a blazing fire from the midst of a bush; and he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, yet the bush was not consumed. He said also, “I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” Then Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God. A

Isaiah: 1 In the year of King Uzziah’s death I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, lofty and exalted, with the train of His robe filling the temple.  And one called out to another and said, “Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord of hosts, The whole earth is full of His glory.” Then I said, “Woe is me, for I am ruined, Because I am a man of unclean lips, And I live among a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.” B

Paul: As he was traveling, it happened that he was approaching Damascus, and suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him; and he fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?” And he said, “Who are You, Lord?” And He said, “I am Jesus whom you are persecuting, but get up and enter the city, and it will be told you what you must do.”  C

Do these examples help explain what it means to be in humility in the presence of the Lord:” Moses was afraid to look at God”, Isaiah said “Woe is me, for I am ruined.”” Paul fell to the ground”.

Am I humbled by the constant presence of Jesus in my life or do I just ignore Him?
