Summer 2018 Scripture Memory [Best verses for each week]

#1 – 6/3/2018 – 2 Samuel 2:1 David inquired of the Lord, saying, “Shall I go up to one of the cities of Judah?” And the Lord said to him, “Go up.” So David said, “Where shall I go up?” And He said, “To Hebron.”

#2 – 6/10/2018 – Ephesians 6:10-11…10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.

#3 – 6/17/2018 – 2 Samuel 5:10 David became greater and greater, for the Lord God of hosts was with him. 

1 Peter 3:15-16a…16  sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts a, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence; 16 and keep a good conscience [a–set apart Jesus as Lord and Master in your life! NASB]

#4 – 2 Samuel 7:22 …You are great, O Lord God; for there is none like You, and there is no God besides You, …[NASB]

#5 – 7/1/2018 – 2 Samuel 8:15 So David reigned over all Israel; and David administered justice and righteousness for all his people. [2 Samuel 8:15-18 This list is revised in 2 Samuel 20: 23-26.  V.15 was left out of the later list.]

#6 – 7/8/2018 – 2 Samuel 12:10,13… 10 Now therefore, the sword shall never depart from your house, because you have despised Me and have taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your wife.’… 13  Then David said to Nathan, “I have sinned against the Lord.” And Nathan said to David, “The Lord also has taken away your sin; you shall not die.

#7 – 7/15/2018 – 2 Samuel 14:14 For we will certainly die and are like water that is spilled on the ground and cannot be gathered up again. Yet God does not [simply] take away life, but devises plans so that the one who is banished is not driven away from Him. [AMP]

#8 – 7/22/2018 – 2 Samuel 15:21 But Ittai answered the king and said, “As the Lord lives, and as my lord the king lives, surely wherever my lord the king may be, whether for death or for life, there also your servant will be. [Ittai the Gittite was more faithful than many Israelites by birth, compare to Ruth 1:16  and the Roman centurion Matthew 8:5-13]

2 Samuel 15:34 But [Hushai] if you return to the city, and say to Absalom, ‘I will be your servant, O king; as I have been your father’s servant in time past, so I will now be your servant,’ then you can thwart the counsel of Ahithophel for me. [Hushai was a loyal and faithful servant of David at the risk of his life as a spy]

#9 – 7/29/2018 – a Daily prayer of praise and worship  8b Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty, who was and who is and who is to come”.  11 “Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and because of Your will they existed, and were created.” [Revelation 4:8b,11]

#10 – 8/5/2018 – Acts 5:39 “For if this teaching or movement is merely human it will collapse of its own accord. But if it should be from God you cannot defeat them, and you might actually find yourselves to be fighting against God!” [Phillips Translation] [Gamaliel, a Pharisee said to the Sanhedrin Council this truth about Peter & John]

#11 – 8/12/2018 –  Daniel 9:18-19a… 18 O my God, incline Your ear and hear!…for we are not presenting our supplications before You on account of any merits of our own, but on account of Your great compassion.19 O Lord, hear! O Lord, forgive! O Lord, listen and take action!
