Spiritual Gifts 1-3 out of 25

 1 Corinthians 12:7-.. 7 But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.

The Spirit Himself is the precious gift given to each believer. His indwelling presence is evidence that we have been truly born again [Romans 8:9-10]. In v.7 Paul spoke about what the Spirit is currently doing for us. The exercise of the gifts of the Spirit by individual Disciples will produce results for the common good.

Spiritual Gifts: 1 Corinthians 12:

[1] Wisdom 8a For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit,

With wisdom the Disciple can apply knowledge to make spiritual truths relevant in decision-making and daily life situations. With wisdom you discern the work of the Holy Spirit in the church, and apply His teachings to the needs of the church.

[2] Knowledge 8b and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit;

The gift of knowledge reveals itself in teaching and training in discipleship. It is the God-given ability to learn, know, and explain the truths of God’s Word. A word of knowledge is a Spirit-revealed truth [2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Timothy 2:2, 2 Peter 1:3]. Knowledge was provided directly by the Holy Spirit and Jesus to 1st century apostles so the early church could be formed and they could write the New Testament. Knowledge is provided to us today from the entire bible with the Holy Spirit guiding our understanding and interpretation.

[3] Faith 9a to another faith by the same Spirit,

The spiritual gift of faith results in a believer who trusts Jesus to work beyond their human capabilities. Disciples with this gift trust in Jesus even in the face of insurmountable odds and encourage others to have the same trust. They live one day at a time trusting in Jesus. Faith comes from the Spirit [v.9a] and being transformed by the Word of God [Romans 10:17 NKJV; 12:1-2 HCSB]. Living by faith can take you way out of your comfort zone.
