Bear much fruit and prove to be Disciples of Jesus

John 15:1-11..5 I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples.

Jesus said in this passage that He is the Vine and His Disciples are the branches. When the Disciple abides in Jesus and in His Word you will bear much fruit because without Jesus we can do nothing. Also Jesus applies these same criteria to receiving answers to prayer. I believe this means when we are abiding in Jesus and His Word we will ask for things we know are in His revealed will. A

Jesus glorified God through victory over Satan B and we glorify God by bearing much fruit. There are 4 kinds of fruit- no fruit, fruit, more fruit and much fruit described in John 15 and 4 descriptions of fruit in the New Testament – Attitudes, Righteous Behavior, Sacrifice and Making Disciples. C

Therefore by bearing much fruit we prove we are His Disciples and our joy may be full D.
