Winter 2017-2018 Scripture Memory [Best verses for each week]

#1- 12/3/2017 – Acts 13:38 Therefore let it be known to you, brethrena, that through Himb   forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you, [a- Paul speaking to his brother Jews Acts 13:14-45; b- Jesus]

#2- 12/10/2017 – Acts 14:19-20a..19 But Jews came from Antioch and Iconium, and having won over the crowds, they stoned Paul and dragged him out of the city, supposing him to be dead. 20a But while the disciples stood around him, he got up and entered the city.

#3- 12/17/2017- Revelation 2:17To him who overcomes,… I will give him a white stone, and a new name written on the stone which no one knows but he who receives it.’

#4- 12/24/2017 – Luke 2:10  But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people;  11 for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. 

$5- 12/31/2017 – Matthew 28:19-20.. 19 Go therefore and make disciples * of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

*Discipling is a three step process: [1] make disciples–witnessing that leads people to be new believers in Jesus D, [2] encouraging them to be baptized E and [3] teaching them the commands of Jesus F. All with the help of Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

#6 – 1/7/2018 – Acts 16:25 But about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God, and the prisoners were listening to them;

#7 – 1/14/2018 –  Acts 17:30 Therefore having overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now declaring to men that all people everywhere should repent,

#8 – 1/21/2018 – Psalm 139:14 Thank You for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. NLT

#9 – 1/28/2018 – Ephesians 2:10 “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.” 

#10 – 2/4/2018 – Acts 20:24  But I count my life of no value to myself, so that I may finish my course and the ministry I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of God’s grace. 

#11 – 2/11/2018 – Acts 22:15 For you are to be his witness, telling everyone what you have seen and heard. 

#12 – 2/18/2018 – John 14:26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you. [The Holy Spirit will teach us as we study and meditate on Bible scripture and help us remember the verses we have memorized and know about from His word when we need them.]                                                                                                       

Romans 8:10 If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness. [NASB]                                                

Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God. [HCSB] 

#13 – 2/25/2018 1 Peter 3:15 but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence;
