The One Worthy of Our Praise

 Psalm 146:5 How blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, Whose hope is in the Lord his God,

V5a. Happy is the person who receives help from the God of Jacob. The God of Jacob is the God of the covenant with Abraham, Isaac, Jacob later known as Israel and the God “Jehovah” who appeared to Moses and led Israel out of Egypt, across the Red Sea, through the wilderness and into the Promised Land–Canaan. The Bible uses many names for the one and only true God, who is all-powerful and all-caring. Most of these different names represent an attribute of God. Two examples: Jehovah-Jireh, Genesis 22:12-14. The meaning of this name is The Lord Who Provides; Jehovah Rapha, Exodus 15:26. The Lord Who Heals.

V5b. Our hope comes from the true God when He becomes the Lord our God; when we surrender to Him as Lord and master of our lives. What joy, peace and hope come to the person who experiences being a member of the family of God? “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”  [Romans 15:13]

.Psalm 146:6 Who made heaven and earth, The sea and all that is in them; Who keeps faith forever;

V.6. He who made the earth can preserve His disciples while on earth. He who made heaven provides a heaven for His disciples and makes our spirit and body ready for heaven for eternity. John said; Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is.[1 John 3:2]

He is faithful forever and worthy of our praise.
