Spring 2017 Scripture Memory [Best verses of each week]

#2a- 3/12/2017-  Matthew 12:36  But I tell you that every careless word that people speak, they shall give an accounting for it in the day of judgment.

#1- 3/5/2017- Luke 9:23 “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me.

#2- 3/12/2017- Matthew 17:5 While he was still speaking, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and behold, a voice out of the cloud said, “This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased; listen to Him!”

#3- 3/19/2017- Matthew 18:3  “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn a and become like children b, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. CSB  [a- repent-; b- trusting in Jesus Christ alone for your salvation]

#4- 3/26/2017- Romans 3:25-26.. 25 whom God displayed publicly as a propitiation in His blood…This was… 26 so that He would be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.  

#5- 4/2/2017- Matthew 21:43 Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people, producing the fruit of it. 

Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being My priest. Since you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.

#6- 4/9/2017- Romans 10:9,13.. 9 if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; 13 for “Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

#8- 4/23/2017- Matthew 24:42 Therefore be on the alert, for you do not know which day your Lord is coming.                                                                                                             

#8a- 4/23/2017- Matthew 25:35-40 … 35 For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; 36 naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.’40 Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine *, even the least of them, you did it to Me.’  [ * believers are children of God and  joint heirs with Jesus and therefore His brother, see Romans 8:16-17]

#9- 4/30/2017- Luke 22:19-20..  19 And when He had taken some bread and given thanks, He broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” 20 And in the same way He took the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup which is poured out for you is the new covenant in My blood. 

#10- 5/7/2017- Matthew 26:39 And He went a little beyond them, and fell on His face and prayed, saying, “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; yet not as I will, but as You will.”

 #11-5/14/2017- Matthew 26:64 Jesus *said to him, “You have said it yourself; nevertheless I tell you, hereafter you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.”

#12- 5/21/2017- Luke 23:46  And Jesus, crying out with a loud voice, said, “Father, into Your hands I commit My spirit.” Having said this, He breathed His last.

 #7- 4/16/2017- Matthew 28:6 He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said. Come, see the place where He was lying.

#13- 5/28/2017-  Matthew 28:19-20.. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
