Steps to Daily Living and Decision Making

  1. Use the Sound Mind Principle:

2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

  1. We have the Word of God, the Holy Spirit and mind of Christ for guidance:

Psalms 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.

1 Corinthians 2:12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.

1 Corinthians 2:16b …But we have the mind of Christ.

  1. Replace anger and fear with faith by rejoicing and thanking God in all circumstances:
1 Thessalonians 5:18 in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:4-7.. 4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! 5 Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near. 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

  1. Commit to doing God’s will as provided in His Word [inluding His moral will]

Romans 12:2  Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God. HCSB

Our mind is renewed from study and meditation on the scripture and His commands. (Joshua 1:8-9, 2 Peter 1:3, Colossians 1:9) His perfect will includes His moral will. Example “put away and put on” in Colossians 3:1-17. My problem is not finding or knowing God’s will, it is doing His known will every day as proclaimed in the Bible.

Psalms 40:8 I delight to do Your will, O my God; Your Law is within my heart.” [including His moral will]

Matthew 6:10 ‘Your kingdom come. Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven. [including His moral will]

Psalm 37:..  1 Do not fret because of evildoers, … 3  Trust in the Lord and do good;  4  Delight yourself in the Lord;  7  Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him; Do not fretCease from anger and forsake wrath; Do not fret;…                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      For six steps to daily decision making in the will of God click here
