The 5 Sola’s of the Reformation


  1.  “Scripture alone”: The Bible alone is our highest authority. Sola Scriptura
  2. “Faith alone”: We are saved through faith alone in Jesus Christ. Sola Fide
  3. “Grace alone”: We are saved by the grace of God alone. Sola Gratia
  4. “Christ alone”: Jesus Christ alone is our Lord, Savior, and King. Solus Christus
  5. “to the glory of God alone”: We live for the glory of God alone. Soli Deo Gloria

Martin Luther’s nailing of his ninety-five theses to the church door on October 31, 1517, provoked a debate that culminated finally in what we now call the Protestant Reformation. Every year October 31 is celebrated as Reformation Day. Five Bible verses to read on Reformation Day
