Yesterday I posted on how many people died during the tribulation who rejected Jesus Christ as the Son of God and their Savior. I read Dr Henry Morris’s devotional today (see bottom) and began to wonder how many died in Noah’s flood.
This Author estimated 10.3 trillion people died in Noah’s flood. Source This Author assumed a time frame from creation to the flood of 1656 years, starting with 2 people and a compound annual growth rate of 1.783%. The only variable in question is the growth rate.
This Author estimated 10 billion died in Noah’s flood. Source This estimate is based on a 1.36% compound annual growth rate.
The world population increased from 2 billion in 1927 to 7.36 billion in 2015. This is a compound annual growth rate of 1.5% in a time of great wars and genocide in Germany, Russia and other countries.
This range is large but maybe warranted given unknowns. However, I personally believe that the lower number of 10 billion is too high–but I have nothing to go on except my intuition. Here is another thought: “Pre-Flood Human Fossils” Where are all the pre-Flood human fossils? Well, the high murder rates that Genesis 6 suggests, plus other factors like catastrophic flooding, floodwater sorting, and even investigator bias, indicate we might not expect to find many after all.
