ABORTION . . . impact?

Abortion Statistics in USA since 1973 click here

Since 1973 when abortion was legilized by the Supreme Court in all 50 states there has been over 60 million abortions in the USA. However, illegal abortions began to grow after 1960 and with birth control pills caused the fertility rate to plument as shown in the chart below.

United States fertility rate  (births per women) declined from 3.654 in 1960 to 1.743 in 2015. The chart will show that all this decline occurred between 1960 and 1976. The “Replacement rate or fertility without net immigration requires each woman to replace herself by producing 2.1 children per woman, ” Source

In only 2 years since 1971 has the USA fertility rate been above the replacement rate.

As shown in this comparison chart the European Union and Japan are below the USA.  Click here. Russia and China are below the USA in this chart and India is in a down spiral. Click here.

These charts project a disaster for the future of each country as the population will decline without in-migration. In none of these countries is the sanctity of human life recognized including the the USA. The USA abortion rate has declined 43% since 1990, but there has not been a sustainable increase in the fertility rate.
