Helps for Effective Prayers – Supplication prayers for each day of each week-

[Sunday] 1. An intimate relationship with Jesus that enables praying in His name and in His will
“Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.” (1) “These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, … if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him.” (2)

[Monday] 2. Unselfish Motives
“You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures. (3)
3. Abiding in Scripture
“If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.” (4)

[Tuesday] 4. Forgiving Hearts
“if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions.” (5)
5. Family Harmony
“You husbands in the same way, live with your wives in an understanding way, …show her honor as a fellow heir of the grace of life, so that your prayers will not be hindered.” (6)

[Wenesday] 6. Honesty, confession, and repentance as in
Daniels prayer in Daniel 9:2-19, God’s answer is by His mercy and grace “…for we are not presenting our supplications before You on account of any merits of our own, but on account of Your great compassion.” (8)
7. Powerful petition as in this prayer by Daniel
“O my God, incline Your ear and hear!…. O Lord, hear! O Lord, forgive! O Lord, listen and take action! … O my God, do not delay,” (9)

[Thursday] 8. Planning & commitment to hard work
Planning includes a daily routine of prayer with a way to record specific prayers and their answer. “But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret,…” (10) “So I gave my attention to the Lord God to seek Him by prayer and supplications, with fasting, sackcloth and ashes.” (11) ” while I was still speaking in prayer, then the man Gabriel,…came to me in my extreme weariness.” (12)

[Friday] 9. Persistence until stopped by God; as He stopped Paul after 3 requests
“Now He was telling them a parable to show that at all times they ought to pray and not to lose heart,” (13) The parable in Luke 18:2-5 demonstrates the necessity of persistence in prayer. Never, never give up on a specific prayer request as you “abide in Jesus and His words abide in you”. (4) However, Paul prayed 3 times for his thorn in the flesh to be removed but God said no! 2 Corinthians 12:9 And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” (14)

[Saturday] 10. Lack of doubt
“But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind.” (7) [1-9 provide the basis for lack of doubt in prayer]
